I love to walk there at night, a modern data center is quite amazing. Almost no one comes down there anymore, kind of a pedestrian zone at 3 am. Unless, of course, there is a problem. That is how it is with people, nobody cares how it works as long as it works.
I like it down here as it remindes me of our modern society being so very much dependent on theses machines, they keep the digital natives alive. The ones that refuse to stay at a perfectly decent hotel because the internet is so darn slow.
Ten years from now this place looked all different but essentially it hasn't changed a bit. I had detailled knowledge of each an every piece of equipment and, of course, it was me to grant or revoke privileges that did matter the most. No change went without my knowledge, I did control these machines.
Today I do not recognize too many of them, as a matter of fact for most of them I have absolutely no idea how they work. Tomorrow I take my girl for a long walk in the woods, I love to walk with her during the day. Particularly the part where she finds it hard to stick to the subject as she tells me her story.
I need to consider the alternatives.
Kind regards
